New wordpress plugins are being created every single day. Today I would like to recommend you 4 excellent SEO WordPress plugins, which I use on my blogs. They help me to search engine optimize my websites both on-page and off-page. This leads to a savings of time and money.
SEO Yoast
This free plugin is one of the most complex and best SEO solutions for on-page optimization. Yoast is a well-known expert in SEO. Yoast has an array of other great plugins.
Some of the SEO Yoast plugin options include:
- SEO meta tag and meta description management
- Dofollow and noindex management
- Xml sitemap generation
- Canonical links management
- RSS Footer incorporation
However, if you are one of those lucky Thesis users, you do not need this plugin. Thesis has most of its options built in automatically.
Web Traffic Genius
Complex solution for RSS feed management. Each time you publish new content on your blog, the plugin creates new unique feed which then is sent automatically to many RSS feed directories. It helps index your content faster, it creates new backlinks and drives more traffic to your websites. You can read more about that incredible plugin in my article about RSS feed submission and generator plugin.
WP Syndicator
This plugin is an excellent tool to give more exposure to your content, helping also to index it faster. It takes a short part of your blog post and sends it to previously configured Web 2.0 properties. It then gets published with link pointing back to your blog posts.
Here are some of the Web 2.0 properties, which this plugin supports:
- WordPress
- Blogger
- Typad
- LiveJournal
- Posterous
- FriendFeed
SEO Smartlinks
An excellent free WordPress plugin to create internal linking structure. You decide which keywords should be linked with which URLs (either internal or external ones).
Some of the plugin options include:
- linking blog posts, pages and even comments
- possibility to leave links in RSS feeds
- choosing words which should be excluded from linking
- choosing subpages which should be excluded from linking.
The key to creating valuable internal linking structure is using a moderate amount of keywords and URLs. If not your website will look spammy.
Of course the list of SEO plugins is much longer. The 4 mentioned ones are a great start. They automate certain processes making your valuable content and your website more available to readers and traffic.
Do you use these plugins? What other SEO plugins are your favorite and you would recommend?

My favorite plugin is the ‘All In One SEO Plugin’. The WP Syndicator is interesting – perhaps I should try it out. Thanks for your suggestion…

Hi Raj,
Thanks for your comment!
All in One SEO plugin is a great plugin as well. I used to use it before SEO Yoast on my non Thesis websites.

Hi.. Justyna,
Reviewed a very interesting plugin. I also use the plugin on several blogs “YOAST”. And it’s very complex. As other optimization I also use the plugin “SEO-ALRP” very good in my opinion. For plugin “Web Traffic Genius” unfortunately still too expensive for me to have, but it seems very good indeed.

Hi Velli,
Thanks for commenting. I don’t know SEO-ALRP, will check it out!
All in one SEO works just fine for me. Thanks for sharing other plugins, I’ll try them out except for the one I can’t afford by now, the genius.

Hey Justyna! I have been using All-In-One SEO. Do you prefer SEO Yoast over this one or they are pretty much similar? Erica

Hi Erica,
SEO Yoast is a better solution than All-in-One-SEO. The first one offers many more very useful options!
Hi, Justyna! Ref Web Traffic Genius – doesn’t this create issues with duplicate content if your post gets sent all over the web?
Best,
Michael

Hello Michael,
Duplicate content is not an issue in this case.

I don’t actually use them. Commentluv is my plugin of the year and I also use a few others.

SEO Yoast seems a really great WP plugin. And it’s free. But it might be a little complex though for beginners.

This is a great article in the art of blog commenting…. Too many people just leave a few words.
Hi Justyna
I bought Web Traffic Genius from the boys over at The Marketing Assasins when it first came out and it’s a great plugin, can take a bit of time setting it up but once you’re done it’s pretty much backlinks on autopilot every time you make a post. The one plugin I haven’t tried is WP Syndicator, this seems another great way to get auto backlinks and at $47 it’s not too expensive.

All-in-one SEO really works well and it really helps. There are so many SEO plugins existing right now it depends upon to us on what we choose wisely. SEO Yoast sounds new to me maybe I have to take time to research about this.

I use Yoast and love it. Where I fail is using plugins to take advantage of RSS feeds. I am just beginning to work on my RSS feeds and use them to gain a following. The syndicator and web traffic genius plugins sound like a good place to start.
